As part of the Coleshill History Project, logbooks from Coleshill School were scanned and digitised by the Buckinghamshire Family History Society. The logbooks cover the period from 1850 (the school’s inauguration) until 1955 and provide a fascinating record of English village education over more than a century. It is interesting to see what things changed and what stayed the same.

We have recently used AI to transcribe the logbooks into a more readable (and searchable) form. The transcriptions are generally excellent although there are inevitably some examples of handwriting that is difficult to decipher. Also the layout of a few of the pages has not always been perfectly preserved.

Please use the feedback form to report any errors you identify in the transcription, or to suggest improvements to the layout of particular pages.

The links below take you to transcriptions of the six logbooks as well as images of the handwritten pages.

Some of the images are quite large so please be patient while they download.
